The online Texas drivers ed program is a concurrent method driver education class, meaning that you will be required to complete both classroom and behind-the-wheel training concurrently under the supervision of your parent or legal guardian. Before you start the driver ed course, however, you must submit the PTDE packet to the TDLR along with the required fee. Once the TDLR has sent you authorization, you may begin module 1 of the driver education program. After you complete Module 1, which is the classroom instruction phase, you can apply for your Texas learner's permit at the TDLR. Once you have obtained your learner's permit, you can start the in-car phase of the drivers ed course. Once you have completed all of the online course chapters and in-car lessons with your parent or guardian, you will be required to pass both an online final exam and a in-car driving test. Upon successfully passing these two tests, you and your parent or guardian may apply for a provisional driver's license at the Texas Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Once you complete the online course, we will process and ship a certificate of completion to whatever mailing address you entered during online registration. We will send your certificate via regular US Mail free of charge or you can select any one of our expedited shipping methods available through Federal Express. Please note that our certificate shipping cut-off times are 6PM Monday through Friday and 2PM on Saturday. We do not ship certificates out on Sunday. If you complete your course after the cut-off time, your certificate will be processed the next business day.
Also, please note that Federal Express shipments are processed according to a business day schedule. For example, if you select Federal Express Overnight delivery and complete your course on a Friday your certificate will not be delivered until Monday morning. Saturday delivery is available, but it can only be ordered if you complete the course on a Friday and call TeenDrivingCourse.com to upgrade.
